I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) through the Minnesota Board of Social Work. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2014 from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. From there I obtained my Master of Social Work degree under a clinical track program through the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, in May 2020.
My most recent professional experience was the completion of my internships with my first-year practicing care coordination for a local healthcare clinic and my second year providing individual psychotherapy services for a private practice agency. I have experience in the field of education with students of pre-school and elementary ages, both as providing fill-in teaching services and paraprofessional work. As a Mental Health Practitioner for a children and family behavioral health agency, I provided CTSS skills for ages 3-17. I was also a direct support professional in an adult foster care setting providing care for adults civilly committed, primarily diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
My educative experience and professional background has prepared me for a career providing care for both children and adults working primarily with anxiety and depressive-based symptoms, trauma histories, emotional and behavioral challenges, as well as other major and overwhelming stressors.
My approach is compassionate and based on the individual’s biological, psychological, social, and spiritual needs as I adapt person-centered therapeutic treatment modalities accordingly to best improve one’s overall well-being and healing. I have a strong appreciation for relational-cultural therapy (RCT), incorporating the tenet that we all grow through and toward relationships over the lifespan into my practice of other evidence-based interventions (including dialectal behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based stress reduction).
Outside of practice, I love to get outdoors as much as possible. I appreciate our Northern Minnesota for all kinds of opportunities whether it's to grasp a mindful moment or enjoy an adventure on the water or land.
