Brandon Stenzel, MA, LPCC
I have been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, through The Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy since December of 2020. I received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Cloud State University, majoring in Psychology in 2013. Furthering my education, I attended St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, in the Twin Cities, where I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services in 2017.
I began working with adolescents in 2012, where I completed an internship teaching independent living skills within a Support and Advocacy for Independent Living program. During my graduate studies, I completed a clinical internship/practicum working with adolescents in a school-based day-treatment setting providing various mental health services. After completing my education, I moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota where I had been providing individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy to individuals 6 years old and above in various treatment settings. Areas of clinical interest to me include neurodevelopmental disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and stressor-related disorders, and behavioral disorders. |
Currently, I provide mental health services to children (6 years old and older), adolescents, and adults. While working with individuals, I use an integrative approach incorporating various treatment modalities, which may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Non-Directive Play Therapy techniques, Expressive Art Therapy techniques, or Non-Directive Sand Tray techniques, dependent on the individual’s preferences and therapy goals. Using an integrative approach, this allows the therapeutic process to not be confined to a “one size fits all” treatment modality while meeting the needs of each unique individual. What I enjoy most about my work is getting the privilege to help others overcome any problem or obstacle they may be facing, along with having the opportunity to be able to learn something new each day.
